FISA Flood 2007

Dear Sharon,

Thank you so much for getting involved in the FISA Flood of 2007. You've taken an important step by sending your message to your Senators. We'll also hand-deliver your urgent request next week. To make sure your Senators really get the message, can you follow up by phone right now?

Call Sen. Amy Klobuchar (202) 224-3244 and Sen. Norm Coleman (202) 224-5641

You can look up their phone numbers and log your calls here.

When you call, say something like this:

I am a constituent calling about bills to reform FISA, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

I expect you to do everything possible to uphold the rule of law and the Constitution. If you truly stand behind the rule of law and the Constitution you took an oath to uphold, a commitment to voting “NO” on phone company immunity is a good first step, but it is not enough.

Will the Senator agree to sustain a filibuster of any bill with immunity for phone companies that may have broken the law?

The response you get from your senators is critical to our work as we reach out to senators on this important issue. Please report their response here.

Thanks for your continued effort and for all you're doing in defense of freedom.

Sincerely,

Caroline Fredrickson, Director
ACLU Washington Legislative Office

P.S. Want to do even more? Ask friends to get involved. Make a donation to support our work defending freedom. Or, make additional phone calls to key decision-makers.
